William Robert “Will” Young (born 20 January 1979) is a British singer-songwriter and actor.
Young was born in Wokingham, Berkshire, with a fraternal twin, Rupert. He also has an elder sister.
Young was educated at three independent schools: Horris Hill School near the village of Newtown in Berkshire and from the age of thirteen, at Wellington College in Crowthorne, also in Berkshire, and at D’Overbroeck’s College in Oxford in Oxfordshire.
In February 2002, Young came to national prominence by winning the ITV television programme contest Pop Idol.
