Tony Barbee (born August 10, 1971(1971-08-10)) is an American college basketball coach and the head coach of the men’s basketball program at Auburn University. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. Barbee had previously coached at UTEP, where he was the first black head coach in UTEP history.
On March 24, 2010 Barbee was named the new head coach at Auburn University, becoming Auburn’s first African American head coach in a major sport . Barbee will start his career at Auburn in a brand new $90 million arena.
