Maura Jo West (born April 27, 1972 in Springfield, Massachusetts) is an emmy award winning American actress, best known for her role as Carly Tenney on the television soap opera As the World Turns (April 11, 1995-May 8, 1996; September 10, 1997-present).

She has been nominated for a Soap Opera Digest Award five times (in 1996, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2006 respectively), and a Daytime Emmy Award seven times (in 2001, 2002, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010 respectively) . West won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2007 and 2010.

In 2010 West and her longtime onscreen romantic acting partner, Michael Park won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor. It was ironic as this super couple won their awards on the same year that As the World Turns leaves the airwaves forever.

The United States Military Academy at West Point (also known as USMA, West Point, or Army) is a four-year coeducational federal service academy located at West Point, New York. Established in 1802, USMA is the oldest of the United States’s five service academies. The military garrison at West Point was occupied in 1778 and played a key role in the Revolutionary War. The academy sits on scenic high ground overlooking the Hudson River, 50 miles (80 km) north of New York City. The entire central campus is a national landmark and home to scores of historic sites, buildings, and monuments.

Mae West (August 17, 1893 – November 22, 1980) was an American actress, playwright, screenwriter and sex symbol.

Known for her bawdy double entendres, West made a name for herself in Vaudeville and on the stage in New York before moving to Hollywood to become a comedienne, actress and writer in the motion picture industry. One of the more controversial movie stars of her day, West encountered many problems including censorship.

When her cinematic career ended, she continued to perform on stage, in Las Vegas, in the United Kingdom, on radio and television, and recorded rock and roll albums.

West was born Mary Jane West in Bushwick, Brooklyn, King’s County, New York,

Her father was a prizefighter known as “Battlin’ Jack West” who later worked as a “special policeman” and then as a private investigator who ran his own agency.

What Is Wild Wild West

Wild Wild West (1999) is a science fiction Western action-comedy film directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, and starring Will Smith, Kevin Kline (who appears in a dual roles as both the protagonist Artemus Gordon and as President Ulysses S. Grant), Kenneth Branagh and Salma Hayek.

In the spirit of the original TV series it was based on, The Wild Wild West, the film features highly advanced steampunk technology and many bizarre mechanical inventions, including innumerable inventions of the mechanological geniuses Artemus Gordon and Dr. Loveless, such as nitroglycerine-powered penny-farthing bicycles, spring-loaded notebooks, bulletproof chainmail, flying machines, steam tanks, and Loveless’s giant mechanical spider.

The film opens in a Louisiana forest during the Reconstruction Era where a man, later revealed to be Thaddeus J.

Mountain West Conference Results

The Mountain West Conference (MWC), the youngest of the college athletic conferences affiliated with the NCAA’s Division I FBS (formerly I-A), officially began operations in July 1999. Geographically, the MWC covers a broad expanse of the western United States, with member institutions located in California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, Utah, Wyoming, and has announced expansion into Idaho beginning July 2011. Craig Thompson has served as Commissioner of the MWC since its founding in 1999.

Charter members included Air Force, BYU, Colorado State, New Mexico, San Diego State, UNLV, Utah, and Wyoming. Before forming the Mountain West Conference, seven of the eight charter members had been longtime members of the Western Athletic Conference; half were WAC charter members at its formation in 1962 – UNLV had only joined the WAC in 1996.
