The name Alex has been used for a total of 10 tropical cyclones worldwide: Three in the Atlantic Ocean, four in the West Pacific Ocean and three in the South Indian Ocean.

The name “Alex” replaced the name “Andrew” after 1992′s Hurricane Andrew caused that name to be retired.
