Parker Griffith (born August 6, 1942) is an American politician and Republican member of the United States House of Representatives, representing Alabama’s 5th congressional district since 2009. He was a Blue Dog Democrat
Before his election to the United States Congress, Griffith was a member of the Alabama Senate, representing the 7th District from 2006 to 2008. The district includes parts of Madison County and Huntsville.
Griffith was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. He received his medical degree from the Louisiana State University Medical School and served in residency at the University of Texas.
